Bollywood actor Aamir Khan married his longtime partner Gauri Spratt on Sunday, July 5, 2026. The couple officially registered their marriage under the Special Marriage Act before holding a private ceremony at Khan's residence in the Pali Hill area of Bandra, Mumbai.

The celebration was an intimate affair attended by approximately 150 guests, including childhood friends, close family, and select figures from the entertainment and political spheres. Attendees included politician Raj Thackeray, filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, comedian Vir Das, former cricketer Irfan Pathan, and actor Elli AvrRam. Several guests traveled from overseas to attend the festivities.

The wedding remained a personal event, avoiding the lavish scale typical of Bollywood celebrations. Instead of a grand reception, the newlyweds celebrated with a quiet gathering and lunch at home. Social media videos and photos emerged following the event, showing the couple exchanging wedding vows and sharing a dance as guests cheered.

For the ceremony, Aamir Khan wore a white traditional kurta set featuring a statement brooch. Gauri Spratt, a wellness coach and entrepreneur who manages a Mumbai salon and is originally from Bengaluru, wore an ivory-toned traditional lace ensemble with layered jewellery and her hair styled in a floral braid.

Family members played a central role in the event. Aamir's mother, Zeenat Hussain, was in attendance, and his sister arrived at the residence a day prior as preparations intensified. The couple's children were also present: Khan's children Junaid, Ira, and Azad Rao Khan, as well as Spratt's six-year-old son, Quinn. Azad Rao Khan was specifically seen sitting beside his father during the marriage formalities.

The event proceeded as planned despite heavy monsoon rain in Mumbai. Reports indicate that event planners and workers, some wearing raincoats, continued installing festive decorations and decorative lighting at the bungalow while showers lashed the city on Saturday.

This marriage is the third for the actor. Khan was first married to Reena Dutta from 1986 to 2002, with whom he has two children. In 2005, he married filmmaker Kiran Rao; the couple had a son, Azad, through surrogacy in 2011. Khan and Rao announced their separation in 2021 but continue to co-parent and collaborate on projects including the Paani Foundation.

Khan and Spratt first met in Bengaluru about 25 years ago but subsequently lost touch. They reconnected through family members in 2023, leading to a friendship that developed into a relationship. The couple eventually began living together and dated for nearly two years before marrying.

Khan first introduced Spratt to the public in March 2025 during celebrations for his 60th birthday. At that time, he noted they had known each other for about 25 years but had been in a relationship for approximately two years.

Prior to the ceremony, the actor confirmed the wedding details during a screening of the Pritam and Pedro series by Rajkumar Hirani.

"Shaadi hai 5 July ko. Ghar pe hi kar rahe hain. Bahut hi choti shaadi hai. Bahut hi khaas din hai 5 tarikh hamare liye. Dono families hain aur kuch khaas dost hain. (The wedding is on 5 July. We are hosting it at home; it's a very small, intimate affair. It is a very special day for us. Both families and a few close friends will be there.)"

"Ghar pe hi kar rahe hain. Aap sabhi ki dua chahiye bas ki hum khush rahe aur prarthana karenge ki achha safar rahe. Bahut hi gharelu hai. (We are holding it at home. We just need everyone's blessings for our happiness and pray that we have a wonderful journey ahead. It is a very small, intimate affair - a truly homely one.)"
