Eva Green Rushed to Hospital After Accident on ‘Wednesday’ Set
French actress Eva Green was rushed to a hospital after suffering a "really nasty" leg injury while filming the third season of the Netflix series Wednesday. The accident occurred on set near Dublin, where production is currently taking place.
Production was temporarily halted while the 45-year-old actress sought medical attention. According to reports, filming was postponed until the end of the month to accommodate her recovery, though some sources indicate that production reconvened earlier this month.
A source told The Sun:
"This was really nasty. Eva sustained an injury and was clearly in pain and producers were taking no chances. Medics were called and Eva went to hospital. She underwent treatment and is now recovering well."

Green, known for her role as Vesper Lynd in the 2006 film Casino Royale, is making her debut in the Addams Family spin-off as Aunt Ophelia, the troubled sister of Morticia Addams. Her character was first teased during season two, where she was shown from behind scrawling the words Wednesday must die
on a wall. Green was confirmed for the role in November 2025.
The role marks a continued collaboration between Green and director Tim Burton, who previously worked together on Dumbo, Dark Shadows, and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Speaking on the role, Green previously stated:
"I can’t wait to bring my own touch of cuckoo-ness to the Addams Family. This show is such a deliciously dark and witty world."

The production has expanded its cast for the third season. New additions include Lena Headey, James Lance, Andrew McCarthy, Winona Ryder, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, and Kennedy Moyer. Returning cast members include Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Emma Myers, and Joanna Lumley.
The series, produced by MGM Television, moved its filming location from Romania to County Wicklow, Ireland, for its second season, becoming the largest production ever filmed in that country. The scale of the production remains significant; one source noted that the budget is "enormous" and each episode is believed to cost around £15million.
The first season of Wednesday holds the record for the most-watched English-language show of all time on Netflix. The plot of the third season will follow the events of the previous series, which ended with a premonition of Wednesday's death and the disappearance of her best friend, Enid.
Creators and executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar have stated that the new season will welcome new teachers and students while excavating long-rotting Addams Family secrets
. They noted it is their dark delight
to open the gates of Nevermore Academy once more.
Netflix has not yet announced an official release date for season three. Representatives for Green and Netflix have been contacted for comment but have not yet responded.
