Paul Flack, an artist and graphic designer, has died at the age of 55. His death comes six years after the suicide of his younger sister, television presenter Caroline Flack.

Norfolk Police stated that officers were called by ambulance on 21 June after concerns were raised for the safety of a man in his 50s at a property on Sandringham Road in Norwich. Mr. Flack was found unresponsive at his home and taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10.44pm. Norfolk Police said the death is currently being treated as unexplained, though they do not believe there are suspicious circumstances.

An inquest into the death of the father-of-two was opened at Norfolk Coroner’s Court on Monday 29 June. According to records, a provisional post-mortem listed the cause of death as cardiac arrest due to hanging. Coroner Yvonne Blake stated that further enquiries are required to fully establish the circumstances of the death. The hearing has been adjourned to 23 October.

Born in Enfield on 18 June 1971, Mr. Flack died just three days after his 55th birthday. He is survived by his partner and two children. Those who knew him in Norwich described him as active in the community; in September of last year, he was announced as a DJ at the Last Pub Standing alongside record label owner Henry Comb.

The organizers of Flackstock, a festival established to promote mental health awareness in memory of Caroline Flack, expressed their grief on Instagram.

"We are beyond heartbroken by Paul Flack’s passing. We loved Paul so deeply, and this news has shattered us all. Paul was funny, kind and loving. He gave the best hugs and had the most brilliant laugh. We will miss him so much."

The festival organizers added that their current focus is on supporting the Flack family. They noted that Flackstock exists to give people hope, remember those lost, and hold a hand out to those struggling.

Paul Flack had been vocal about the pain surrounding his sister's death. Caroline Flack, who won Strictly Come Dancing in 2014 and hosted Love Island for five seasons, died by suicide on 15 February 2020 at the age of 40. At the time, she was facing a trial for assault by beating following an incident with her boyfriend, Lewis Burton. Mr. Burton later denied that she ever hurt him.

A London inquest found that the decision to prosecute, combined with the anticipation of media and press publicity, led to her taking her own life. The case sparked a wider national debate regarding online hate and the impact of social media trolls on mental health, leading to the #bekind movement. Following these events, ITV introduced new welfare measures for Love Island contestants, including psychological support and training on handling social media negativity.

Mr. Flack appeared with his mother, Christine, and sisters Elizabeth and Jody in documentaries about Caroline's life and mental health struggles. In a 2025 Disney production, Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth, he remarked that his sister was the first thing he thought of upon waking up every morning, asking if the police and newspapers felt the same or if they had forgotten.

His final Instagram post, shared in 2020, featured a childhood photograph of Caroline. He wrote: This will be my last post here. May those who know feel shame for eternity. Love you Caroline.

The Flack siblings grew up in East Wretham, Norfolk, where their mother worked for many years at the Eastern Daily Press.
