Jannik Sinner advanced to the 2026 Wimbledon final on Friday, July 10, 2026, by defeating Novak Djokovic in straight sets on Centre Court. The world No. 1 secured a 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 victory, marking the second consecutive year Sinner has eliminated the 24-time Grand Slam winner in the semifinals of this tournament.
Sinner, 24, dominated the match and did not allow Djokovic to break his serve once. The Italian recorded 15 aces, including a 125 mph serve to save his only break point of the match during the third set. Sinner won 88 percent of his first serve points and 61 percent of his second serve points, while Djokovic won 34 percent of his second serve points.
The contest began as a tactical baseline battle, with both players targeting each other's backhands. Neither player broke serve until the ninth game of the first set, when Sinner used a forehand winner and a forced error to take a 5-4 lead, eventually winning the set 6-4.
In the second set, Sinner broke Djokovic to lead 4-3 and later extended that lead to 5-3. Despite Djokovic cutting the deficit to 5-4 on his own serve, Sinner won the subsequent game without yielding a point to take a 2-0 lead in sets.
Sinner wasted no time in the third set, breaking Djokovic in the first game after four break points. Despite chants of Novak! Novak!
from the crowd, the Serbian could not regain momentum. Sinner closed the match 6-4, securing his seventh career Grand Slam final appearance.
"I tried to make a couple of adjustments. I tried to stay quite aggressive, which helped me a lot today. He's the best returner we have in our game so I tried to mix it up with my serves,"

Djokovic, 39, reached the semifinals after a quarterfinal match against Felix Auger-Aliassime that lasted 5 hours and 15 minutes. While the Serb expressed satisfaction with his health and ability to compete as a top-five player, he admitted his own internal expectations remain high.
"For 99% of the players, that would be a very good Grand Slam result,"

The loss extends Sinner's recent dominance over Djokovic; the Italian has won six of their last seven meetings. Their only recent encounter in Sinner's favor was a loss in the semifinals of the 2026 Australian Open.
Sinner will face second-seeded Alexander Zverev in the final on Sunday at 11 a.m. ET. Zverev reached the final after a 7-6(0), 6-2, 6-4 win over British qualifier Arthur Fery. The 29-year-old German is seeking his second consecutive major title after winning the French Open in June, where he defeated Flavio Cobolli in five sets.
Sinner enters the final as the favorite, having won the last nine meetings against Zverev, including a straight-sets victory in the 2025 Australian Open final. If Sinner wins on Sunday, he will secure his second straight Wimbledon title and his fifth career Grand Slam. He previously won the U.S. Open in 2024 and the Wimbledon title last year by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in four sets.
The tournament continues Saturday with the women's singles final featuring an all-Czech matchup between Linda Noskova and Karolina Muchova. The men's doubles final will also take place, featuring the No. 1 seed Harri Heliövaara and Brit Henry Patten against the No. 6 seed Marcelo Arévalo and Mate Pavić.
