Motul, a global leader in high-performance lubricants, has entered a strategic partnership with Energyswitch and Winpart by CFAO to increase the availability of premium automotive lubricants in Nigeria. The collaboration aims to transform the automotive aftermarket by establishing verified retail channels and combating the prevalence of counterfeit engine oils.
The alliance began with the branding of 8 Energyswitch fuel stations in Ibadan, Oyo State. These locations now serve as trusted points of sale where motorists can purchase genuine Motul products alongside their regular fuel needs, effectively turning selected stations into integrated automotive care centers.
The partnership was formalized during an official signing and press conference on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the CFAO Mobility head office on Victoria Island, Lagos. Attendees included Kunle Jaiyesimi, Deputy Managing Director of CFAO Mobility; Eric Fantodji, General Manager of Winpart by CFAO; Olugbenga Adediwin, Managing Director of Energyswitch Allied Oil Services Ltd; and Lanre Muhammed, Marketing Director of Energyswitch Allied Oil Services Ltd.
According to industry stakeholders, the move is intended to reshape lubricant distribution by reducing the exposure of fleet operators and vehicle owners to fake products, which are described as a major threat to the broader automotive industry in Nigeria. By providing verified points of purchase, the partners intend to improve vehicle maintenance standards and increase consumer confidence.
"This partnership reflects our commitment to making high-quality automotive products more accessible to Nigerian motorists. By leveraging Energy Switch’s retail network, we are creating convenient touchpoints where customers can confidently access genuine Motul lubricants and benefit from the performance, protection, and reliability they deliver"

Winpart by CFAO serves as the aftermarket division of CFAO Mobility Nigeria. The company stated that the collaboration reinforces a shared commitment between the three entities to deliver enhanced value to motorists and promote product authenticity.
For Energyswitch Allied Oil Services Limited, the move is part of a broader vision to move beyond simple fuel retail. Olugbenga Adediwin noted that the agreement allows the company to offer a more comprehensive service experience.
"Our partnership with Motul and CFAO Mobility allows us to enhance customer value by providing access to globally trusted lubricants within our stations. This is an important step in improving the overall experience for motorists."

Motorists are expected to see benefits through integrated fuel and lubricant services, as well as improved access to high-performance engine oils. This initiative directly addresses the need for authentic products in a market where counterfeit lubricants remain a persistent issue.
The branding of the 8 stations in Ibadan is the first phase of the project. The partners are currently exploring opportunities to expand this retail model to other cities and markets across Nigeria as the country's automotive sector continues to evolve.
