National Lottery results: Winning Lotto and Thunderball numbers for Saturday 4 July
The National Lottery has announced the results for Saturday, July 4, featuring the "New Lotto" format and the Thunderball draw. While the top prizes in both games remained unclaimed, the updated Lotto structure produced several millionaires.
Lotto Winning Numbers
The Lotto draw, which featured an estimated jackpot of £3.9 million, operated under a two-round format. In this system, players receive two chances to win with a single £2 ticket, as two separate sets of 59 balls are drawn using separate machines.
The winning numbers for the two rounds were:
- Round One: 7, 20, 33, 48, 57, 59. Bonus ball: 47.
- Round Two: 14, 20, 22, 38, 39, 41. Bonus ball: 49.
Four players matched five of the six main numbers plus the bonus ball to win £1 million each. Another 139 players matched five numbers without the bonus ball, earning £1,000 each.
Thunderball Results
The Thunderball draw, which takes place at 8.15pm, offered a top prize of £500,000. The winning numbers were 2, 5, 11, 25, 26, and the Thunderball was 4.
No player matched all five main numbers and the Thunderball to claim the top prize. However, three players won £5,000 each by matching five numbers without the Thunderball. Additionally, 44 players won £250 each by matching four numbers plus the Thunderball, and 559 players won £100 each for matching four numbers without the Thunderball.
The "New Lotto" Format
The National Lottery recently transitioned to a new format to increase the frequency of winners. According to National Lottery operator Allwyn, the update is expected to more than double the number of annual Lotto millionaires, rising from around 140 to approximately 345.
Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at Allwyn, stated last month:
"This is a huge moment for players as we enter a new era for the nation’s millionaire maker, Lotto. From now on, every ticket gives you two chances to win for the same £2 price. We’re talking more winners, more excitement and hundreds more millionaires made every year. It really could be you - not once, but twice."

Additional Lottery News
Beyond the Saturday draws, the National Lottery is currently appealing for the winner of a £12 million prize from a June 6 "Lotto Must Be Won" draw. The winning ticket, which matched numbers 08, 10, 26, 30, 35 and 42, was purchased in Rhondda Cynon Taf, South Wales.
The lottery also recently congratulated Matt and Courtney from Horsham for winning £1 million on EuroMillions. In a separate poll on X, users shared how they would spend a £1 million windfall; 54 per cent said they would purchase a new home, 21 per cent would treat loved ones, and 18 per cent would travel.
Playing the Lotto helps raise around £30 million each week for good causes in the UK. Players can enter the Lotto every Wednesday and Saturday, while EuroMillions draws occur every Tuesday and Friday.
