Ariana Grande will withdraw from public visibility following the conclusion of her current tour. A representative for the 33-year-old pop star and actress confirmed the decision in a statement on Sunday, August 2, 2026, citing the need for a break from endless, ongoing public scrutiny.

The Eternal Sunshine Tour, consisting of 41 dates, is scheduled to end with a 10-night residency at the O2 Arena in London. The final performance will take place on September 1, 2026. Prior to the London residency, Grande will finish the first leg of the tour on August 6 after spending two months traveling across North America.

The decision to step back comes after a year of constant activity. According to a representative, Grande spent the last year promoting a second Wicked film, releasing her eighth studio album, and embarking on her first tour in six years. She also ended a three-year relationship with Wicked co-star Ethan Slater earlier this year.

Impact on Upcoming Projects

The hiatus will result in several high-profile cancellations. Grande will no longer appear in the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sunday in the Park With George, which was planned for next summer at the Barbican Centre. The role would have reunited her with co-star Jonathan Bailey. Empire Street Productions, the producers of the play, stated that they provide their complete understanding and support for the decision. The production is still expected to open in summer 2027.

Additionally, it was revealed that Grande will not appear in the upcoming season of American Horror Story. This departure was attributed to conflicts between the show's production schedule and the Eternal Sunshine Tour.

Addressing Health and Appearance Scrutiny

The move follows intense social media speculation regarding Grande's physical health and body. Recent comments on the music video for her album Petal—released just days before the announcement—included fans claiming she looked deeply unwell and that she was withering away.
