Emilie Kiser announces pregnancy one year after son Trigg's death
Social media influencer Emilie Kiser announced on July 3, 2026, that she and her husband, Brady Kiser, are expecting another child. The news comes slightly more than a year after the death of their 3-year-old son, Trigg, who drowned at the family's home in Chandler, Arizona.
Kiser, 27, shared the announcement with her 2.1 million Instagram followers via a photo of her baby bump. In the post, she described the pregnancy as a bright light to us during some of our darkest days
and stated that the baby has brought hope and joy
into their home.
While sharing the news, Kiser expressed uncertainty regarding how much of the pregnancy or the family's next phase of life she will share publicly, noting that her family's privacy will remain her priority. She did not disclose how far along she is in the pregnancy.
The announcement follows a period of profound loss and legal scrutiny. Trigg fell into the family's backyard pool on May 12, 2025. According to police reports, the toddler had been playing unsupervised with an inflatable chair when he tripped and fell into the water. Investigators stated the boy was alone outside for nearly 10 minutes and in the water for about seven minutes before he was recovered.
Brady Kiser told police he had lost sight of Trigg after dinner because he was distracted by the couple's newborn son, Theodore, who was 5 weeks old at the time. Brady pulled Trigg from the pool and performed CPR until paramedics arrived. Trigg was taken to a hospital in critical condition and died six days later, on May 18, 2025.
The tragedy led to a legal investigation. The Chandler Police Department recommended that Brady Kiser be charged with a Class 4 felony for child abuse. However, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office declined to file charges in July 2025, citing no reasonable likelihood of conviction
.
In the wake of the incident, Emilie Kiser sought to protect her family's privacy. She sued Maricopa County and the city of Chandler to limit the release of investigative records, arguing that graphic materials would invade her family's privacy and that public attention made it more difficult to grieve. While a judge ordered the redaction of surveillance footage descriptions and blocked the release of crime scene photos, some medical examiner and police reports were eventually released to the public.
Kiser has also used her platform to advocate for water safety, urging other parents to install door alarms with working batteries and pool fences, and to ensure their children have swimming lessons.
In recent months, Kiser has spoken about the emotional toll of the accident. During a June 17, 2026, appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose
podcast, she revealed that she has forgiven her husband. Kiser explained that the realization that the accident could have just as easily happened to me
changed her brain chemistry
and allowed her to feel deep empathy for Brady.
She noted that while she believes nothing excuses what happened, the couple worked with medical professionals to process their trauma.
"We’ve really done our best to grieve together and to talk through every emotion and every feeling,"Kiser said, adding that she is proud of how they have utilized therapy tools to come together despite having separate grief.
Kiser, who has amassed over seven million followers across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube since starting her content creation in late 2021, previously stepped back from social media to focus on grieving and raising Theodore. Theodore was born in March 2025, two months before Trigg's death; he is now 16 months old.
Reflecting on the loss during the podcast, Kiser stated, Losing a child really shows you in the scariest, most real way possible just how quickly life can change
, but emphasized her choice to remain the best mother possible for her surviving son.
