Model and content creator Nara Smith has revealed that her daughter, Whimsy Lou, is battling cancer. In an Instagram Reel posted on June 30, the 24-year-old influencer shared that the 2-year-old was diagnosed late last year.

Smith described the onset of the crisis as beginning when she and her husband, model Lucky Blue Smith, noticed something suspicious on Whimsy. After a visit to the emergency room where staff didn’t quite know what to make of it, the couple took the toddler to her pediatrician. Smith recalled that the doctor became really quiet and calm, a reaction that caused her heart to drop.

According to Smith, she felt an immediate sense of intuition in that moment that her daughter had cancer. Following the pediatrician's advice, Lucky Blue Smith took Whimsy to the nearest children's hospital. The diagnosis was confirmed after a series of X-rays, ultrasounds, and a biopsy. Medical professionals informed the family that the cancer had spread and that chemotherapy treatments were required immediately.

The announcement explains a recent decline in Smith's social media activity. Smith noted that balancing the diagnosis with a postpartum recovery, caring for three other children, spending significant time in the hospital, and managing her professional obligations has been really challenging.

Smith, who has authored a cookbook titled Homemade, is widely recognized as a leading figure in the trad wife movement, which focuses on homemaking and family caretaking. She maintains more than 16 million followers across TikTok and Instagram. However, she has previously pushed back against the label; in July 2025, she clarified that she and Lucky Blue Smith split chores 50/50 and that she maintains a full-time career, sometimes traveling for two weeks while her husband watches the children.

The couple has four children together. Along with Whimsy Lou, they have five-year-old Rumble Honey, four-year-old Slim Easy, and 9-month-old Fawnie Golden. Fawnie was born on September 27, 2025, which is also Smith's birthday. Lucky Blue Smith also has a daughter, Gravity, with his former partner Stormi Bree.

Smith said she chose to share the news after several months of focusing on treatment, hoping to provide comfort to other families and encourage people to get suspicious health issues checked. She stated that connecting with other parents on social media, in forums, and within the hospital has alleviated the feeling of loneliness.

While Smith did not specify the type or stage of the cancer, she described the emotional toll of the journey, stating some days are a little easier, some days are really hard. She said her current focus is simply to try her best to show up for her family.
