Selena Gomez joined a circle of high-profile guests at Madison Square Garden on Thursday, July 2, for the reported rehearsal dinner of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. The event, which a city permit suggests hosted an intimate group of approximately 100 guests, took place at the arena's Infosys Theater. According to a source, the dinner followed a garden party theme.

Gomez, a rumored bridesmaid for the occasion, wore a strapless black Oscar de la Renta gown featuring a semi-sheer base with embroidered lace flowers and a high leg slit. Her stylist, Erin Walsh, who shared photos of the ensemble on Instagram with the caption SEL in the city 🖤✨, completed the look with diamond jewelry from Fernando Jorge—including ivy-like earrings—and black Jimmy Choo stilettos. Gomez's beauty look featured a high bun by hair stylist Renato Campora and a cat eye with berry-toned lips by makeup artist Soo Park. Tom Bachik provided a sheer neutral manicure.

The choice of Oscar de la Renta created a moment of reciprocity between the two stars; Swift previously wore a sequined Oscar de la Renta dress with floral appliqués to Gomez and Benny Blanco’s nuptials in September 2025.

A Star-Studded Guest List

Other attendees at the rehearsal dinner included Swift's longtime musical collaborator Jack Antonoff and his sister, Rachel, as well as sports commentator Erin Andrews, longtime friend Abigail Anderson, and publicist Tree Paine. Suki Waterhouse also shared her attire via Instagram, wearing a black Carolina Herrera midi dress from the pre-fall 2026 collection featuring pink and purple 3D floral embroidery and an off-white feathered jacket.

Gigi Hadid was also photographed heading to the venue with Bradley Cooper. Hadid's hair was styled by Dimitris Giannetos into Love Layers, a modified C-cut designed to create the illusion of a heart.

The "Main Event" and Security

Following the rehearsal, the reported wedding is scheduled for Friday, July 3. A city permit obtained by the Associated Press puts the main event at 5 p.m., with some reports citing a 5:30 p.m. Ceremony. The event is rumored to be a massive reception for up to 1,000 guests, featuring transformations of the arena including chandeliers, drapery, and castle-like structures.

The scale of the event has required a significant security operation. The NYPD announced street closures starting at 1 p.m. On July 3, affecting West 31st through West 33rd Streets between 6th and 7th Avenues. Pedestrian access on the west side of 7th Avenue has also been restricted. Security measures include snipers on the roof of the Garden. According to The Hollywood Reporter, officers were positioned outside the arena at the hostess' request to avoid capturing internal details that could go viral on TikTok.

Public officials have acknowledged the event indirectly. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, during a July 2 heat wave briefing, remarked, if you happen to be getting married at Madison Square Garden, you will be staying inside and you will be staying cool. Similarly, NYPD Chief Timothy Beaudette was filmed using a megaphone outside the arena, referencing Swift's song titles including Welcome to New York!

Philanthropy and Connections

Ahead of the wedding, a representative for Swift confirmed the couple donated $26 million to various charities. Key contributions included:

  • Dolly Parton's Imagination Library: $2 million.

Maya Thompson, mother of the subject of Swift's song Ronan, expressed emotion on July 2 regarding the couple's donation to MSK Kids, the pediatric program where her son was treated. Additionally, Brad Paisley, whose nonprofit The Store also received a donation, told NBC News it was very likely he would attend the event.

Further ties to the couple were highlighted on the "New Heights" podcast, where Travis and Jason Kelce revealed a special guest: Prince William, who had previously met the couple backstage at Wembley Stadium during the Eras Tour.

While the public awaits official confirmation of the nuptials, some reports, including from Page Six, suggest the pair may have already legally married at an undisclosed location. Others speculate the weekend is being filmed for a movie, as photography notices were spotted around the venue from June 29 to July 3.
