Investigators believe that Nancy Guthrie was taken against her will from her home, but they have not shared a possible motive or arrested a suspect.
A ransom note sent in the days after Nancy Guthrie's abduction claimed she had died, according to investigators. However, Savannah Guthrie has said that some ransom notes sent to the family were believed to be fake, and she has expressed concerns that her mother may no longer be alive.

The investigation into Nancy Guthrie's disappearance has been ongoing for nearly six months, with the FBI and Pima County Sheriff's Department investigating her disappearance. A reward of over $1 million is being offered for her safe recovery.
