Canadian gymnast Félix Dolci wins Commonwealth Games silver medal in all-around final

Canada’s Félix Dolci secured a silver medal in the men’s all-around final at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games on Sunday, 26 July 2026. Dolci finished with a total score of 79.450, coming within 0.2 points of the gold medal.

The silver-medal finish followed a dramatic climb in the standings, as Dolci had been sitting in 17th place at one point during the competition. He locked in his podium position during the final rotation with a score of 14.500 on the horizontal bar. Dolci's other strong performances included 14.200 on vault, 13.950 on parallel bars, and 13.850 on rings. His highest event score was 13.450 on the floor exercise, while he recorded a 9.500 on the pommel horse.

This individual achievement adds to Dolci's success in Glasgow, as he had previously helped Canada win gold in the team event. Fellow Canadian William Emard also competed in the all-around final, finishing eighth with a score of 77.250.

Scotland’s Reuben Ward claimed the gold medal with a score of 79.650, making him the first Scottish gymnast to win the Commonwealth men’s all-around title in the 96-year history of the Games. Australia’s Jesse Moore took the bronze medal with a score of 79.000. Moore had been the likeliest rival for the top spot heading into the final rotation but fell out of contention after a mistake at the start of his floor routine.

Ward, who represents Scotland through his parents, dedicated his victory to fellow gymnast Gabriel Langton. Langton had been hospitalized on Friday after a fall from the high bar during the team final that left him landing head first. After being cleared of serious injury, Langton returned to the Emirates Arena on Sunday to support his teammates. Ward, a teammate of Langton on the British squad, described the fall as really frightening.

Other results in the final saw Adam Tobin finish fifth and Luke Whitehouse finish seventh. Ward's gold represents Scotland's third gold medal of the Games, following victories by Faye Rogers and Duncan Scott in swimming.

Other Canadian results and upcoming events

In the pool, Canadian swimmer Ben Loewen advanced to the men's 200m backstroke final on Sunday after finishing his heat in two minutes and 77-hundredths of a second. Ben Winterborn, who finished in 2:05.44, will serve as a reserve for the final.

Oliver Dawson reached the men's 50m breaststroke semifinals with a heat time of 27.47 seconds. This follows his fourth-place finish in the 100m breaststroke final on Saturday. In Para swimming, Reid Maxwell finished sixth in the men's 100m backstroke S9 heats with a time of 1:10.31 and will compete in the final on Sunday. Danielle Dorris did not advance to the final of the women's 100m backstroke S9, finishing her heat in 1:26.28.

In the women's 100m heats, Delia Lloyd finished in 58.20 but failed to qualify for the semifinals, while Madison Kryger did not start the event.

Canada also has a scheduled matchup against England in women's 3x3 wheelchair basketball.

Global standings and weightlifting

Australia currently leads the overall medal table with 24 medals, including 12 gold, followed by England with 15 and Nigeria with 7. India stands seventh with three medals: one gold, one silver, and one bronze.

India's gold medal came from Mirabai Chanu in the women's 48kg weightlifting event. Chanu broke the Commonwealth Games record in the snatch with a lift of 82kg, later raising it to 85kg on her final attempt. She secured the title by clearing 105kg in the clean and jerk, marking her third consecutive Commonwealth Games gold. Chanu had previously stated she would not attempt a 90kg snatch to conserve energy for the upcoming Asian Games.

Rishikanta Singh earned a silver medal for India in the men's 60kg weightlifting final. Singh set a personal and Commonwealth Games record in the snatch with a lift of 121kg. However, Aniq Kasdan of Malaysia took the gold, setting a Commonwealth Games record in the clean and jerk with 152kg.

Upcoming events include the pommel horse individual final on Monday, where Reuben Ward will face Olympic champion Rhys McClenaghan.
