Bangkok pub fire kills at least 27 people
A massive fire engulfed the Na Ladprao pub in northern Bangkok early Monday, July 13, 2026, leaving at least 27 people dead and dozens injured. Rescuers reported the blaze began around midnight, with firefighters taking approximately half an hour to bring the fire under control.
Thailand Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed the death toll while speaking to reporters at the scene.

Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt stated that 63 people were transported to the hospital, with 22 of those patients in critical condition. Authorities are currently working to identify the victims, as some were unconscious or did not have identification on them.
Footage from first responders shows thick black smoke billowing into the sky and plumes of fire erupting from the pub's front door as patrons attempted to flee. In the aftermath, photos show the interior of the establishment heavily damaged, with charred chairs and tables.
The Prime Minister noted that the cause of the fire remains under investigation. However, Anutin shared an account from a musician who had been performing at the venue. According to that performer, smoke was seen emerging from a circuit breaker near the stage. This was followed by a power outage, an explosion, and the rapid filling of the space with thick smoke.
Many of the deceased were discovered in the restrooms located at the back of the pub, Anutin added.
Singer Sukanya Wongwongwai, who was performing nearby at the time, rushed to the scene after learning several of her bandmates were playing at the pub. Wongwongwai reported that one bandmate died and three others were hospitalized, while a fifth person has not yet been located.
"From what I heard from people who were inside, when the fire started everything went dark. The power was out and there was smoke everywhere, so they couldn’t locate other people,"

A registration area has been established at the site to collect information from relatives searching for missing loved ones. Recovered items found at the scene include the mobile phones of victims.
This event follows a history of similar nightclub and pub tragedies in Thailand. In 2022, a fire at a music pub in the eastern part of the country killed 14 people. Previously, on January 1, 2009, a fire during a New Year’s Eve celebration at the Santika nightclub in Bangkok killed 66 people and injured more than 200. That specific incident was apparently caused by an indoor fireworks display.
