Days after officiating the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, actor Adam Sandler used a police non-emergency line to locate a basketball court during a visit to Nantucket.
The actor arrived on the island on Sunday, July 5. Unfamiliar with the area, Sandler contacted the Nantucket Police Department seeking a place to play. Public safety dispatcher Chris Reynolds recalled the actor saying, Hey, I’m here on your island and I like to play basketball. Can you tell me where there’s a basketball court I could play on?
Reynolds directed the 59-year-old actor to the court off Backus Lane, located off Surfside Road. Upon arrival in a car, Sandler asked to join a group of local players.

The outing followed a high-profile weekend for the comedian. On Friday, July 3, Sandler officiated the wedding of Swift, 36, and Kelce, 36, at Madison Square Garden. The union was announced on the venue's Jumbotrons with the message JUST&T MARRIED!
A representative for Swift confirmed the couple did not use bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, Austin Swift served as Man of Honor and Jason Kelce acted as Best Man. During the ceremony, Sandler reportedly performed an original song and provided wedding advice. Andy Reid, head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, told CNN that Sandler advised the couple to kiss every chance you have, every day

Sandler has maintained long-standing ties with both newlyweds. He described Swift as ridiculously nice

toward his children, Sadie, 20, and Sunny, 17. In August 2024, Sandler mentioned on the New Heights
podcast that his daughters knew every word to Swift's songs. The actor's family also attended the Los Angeles premiere of the Eras Tour concert film in 2023.
His relationship with Kelce developed through the film industry, as the NFL player appeared in Happy Gilmore 2. Sandler told Entertainment Tonight that Kelce is funny as hell
and reminded him of his high school buddies.
