Rapper Pitbull, born Armando Christian Perez, has established a new Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps. The achievement occurred on July 10 during his headline performance at the British Summer Time (BST) Hyde Park festival in London.

A total of 22,141 fans, known as Bald-es, donned the signature headwear to secure the title. The event was a record-breaking occasion for the venue as well; the sold-out show drew 69,999 people, the largest attendance in the history of the BST Hyde Park festival following a capacity increase this year. Pitbull noted that this attendance milestone passed the baton from Garth Brooks.

The record attempt was an inaugural feat, meaning Pitbull was the first person to attempt it under official adjudication and there was no previous record to beat. To ensure the count was official, Pitbull himself was required to wear a bald cap, according to Guinness World Records official adjudicator Will Munford. The process involved significant coordination, including 400 onsite volunteers to individually check participants and drone footage monitored by 42 counters backstage.

The idea for the gathering originated from different sources. According to reports, British podcaster Jack Remington floated the idea on TikTok in October 2025, suggesting the capacity of the park was sufficient to break a record for people cosplaying as Pitbull. Separately, BBC Radio 1 presenter Greg James texted the singer on air earlier this year with the idea. James later presented the 45-year-old artist with the framed certificate on stage.

The record was the culmination of a viral phenomenon where concertgoers dress as "Mr. Worldwide" in sharp suits, black aviators, and bald caps. At the London show, many fans added stick-on black goatees to their looks, carrying inflatable globes and pints of drink. The supermarket chain Aldi participated by distributing 300 caps outside the festival and temporarily rebranding itself as Baldi.

During the counting process, Greg James humorously warned the crowd that naturally bald individuals would not be counted unless they wore a bald cap on their heads.

Accepting the certificate, Pitbull described the moment as Record breaking, record making, history in the making and called it an honour and a blessing. He credited the fans for the movement, stating:

"So to all the Bald-es, without y’all, like I said before, there’s no Pitbull, no movement, no revolution. But man, way to represent and who would ever thought a first-generation Cuban would be able to be in London, record breaking and record making."

The artist compared the dedication of his fans to the "Parrotheads" of Jimmy Buffett and the "Deadheads" of the Grateful Dead, emphasizing that artists must not forget that they are not there without their fans.

The evening concluded with a singalong of Oasis’s Wonderwall, which Pitbull performed as a tribute to England's run at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Fireworks exploded over the stage during the final song, Give Me Everything, as fans threw their bald caps into the air. The performance followed headline acts Maroon 5 and Mumford & Sons, with Lewis Capaldi remaining on the schedule for the Great Oak Stage.
