Pitbull Sets Guinness World Record for Most ‘Bald Caps’ at London Festival
A sea of shiny heads descended upon London's Hyde Park on Friday, July 10, as rapper Pitbull and thousands of his followers established a new Guinness World Record. The gathering of 22,141 people wearing bald caps marked the first time this specific feat was attempted under official adjudication, meaning there was no previous record to surpass.
The record-breaking event took place during the British Summer Time (BST) Hyde Park Festival. Attendees cosplayed as the Miami-born artist, known as Mr. Worldwide, by donning bald caps, black aviator sunglasses, suits, and stick-on dark goatees. The spectacle coincided with a historic turnout for the venue; Pitbull drew 69,999 fans, the highest recorded attendance in the history of the BST Hyde Park festival. Pitbull noted that this attendance milestone passed the baton from Garth Brooks.
To ensure the count was accurate, Guinness World Records deployed a rigorous verification process. Approximately 400 volunteers individually checked attendees at the venue entrance and on-site. These efforts were supplemented by drone footage analyzed by 42 counters backstage. Adjudicator Will Munford clarified that Pitbull, despite being naturally bald, was required to wear a bald cap to be included in the final tally, as the record was specifically for the gathering of people wearing caps rather than bald people.
The movement began in 2021 following the COVID pandemic, when Pitbull noticed groups of fans wearing bald caps and glasses at his shows. The rapper refers to these fans as Bald-E’s
, a play on "bald eagles," stating that his fans soar high like bald eagles
. He compared the culture to the "Parrotheads" of Jimmy Buffett and the "Deadheads" of the Grateful Dead, remarking in 2025 that seeing every demographic dress up at his shows after 25 years in the industry is priceless
.
The specific record attempt was sparked by podcaster and fan Jack Remmington, who posted a TikTok video after Pitbull's 2025 appearance at the festival was announced. Remmington suggested that given the venue's 65,000 capacity, a world record for people dressed as the rapper would be achievable. He coordinated the idea through BBC Radio 1's Greg James, who contacted Pitbull. By February, the official attempt was announced.
Participants faced strict criteria to be counted. Bald caps had to be secured with front hair tucked underneath, though hair at the back could remain hanging. Additionally, participants were required to wear the caps for a full minute, signaled by a start-and-stop sound. The commitment was tested by a heatwave, with temperatures approaching 90 degrees. Some fans struggled to find gear as local stores sold out of bald caps in advance.
Upon receiving his certificate, Pitbull expressed his surprise and pride.
"I'm speechless. Who would have thought a first-generation Cuban would be record-breaking and record-making?"

The concert included several musical highlights. Pitbull reunited with Kesha to perform their 2013 hit Timber
, a performance that followed a surprise rendition of the song at Roundhay Festival one week prior—their first live collaboration on the track in more than a decade. Pitbull performed a cover of Oasis' Wonderwall
as a tribute to England's progress in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Pitbull is currently continuing his I'm Back
tour with special guest Lil Jon. For the remainder of July, the tour travels through the Netherlands, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Latvia, and Lithuania. The U.S. Leg of the tour is scheduled to begin in August.
