NFC North, AFC South teams reveal "Rivalries" uniforms

The NFL has expanded its "Rivalries" uniform program for the 2026 season, with all four teams in the NFC North and all four teams in the AFC South unveiling their new Nike designs on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. The initiative, which debuted in 2025 with the AFC East and NFC West, allows teams to wear a specialized alternate uniform once per season during a home game against a divisional opponent.

In Houston, the reveal was accelerated after FOX News leaked the designs Tuesday morning. The Houston Texans officially debuted their HOUSTON/US uniform at 9 a.m. Local time. The design utilizes a combination of H-Town Blue, Battle Red, and Liberty White, incorporating details inspired by custom car culture and the Be Someone bridge. The uniform also features Houston's blue-and-white street tiles and red stitching on the shoulder pads and collar.

The Texans will wear the look during a Thursday Night Football home game against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11. This addition brings Houston's total to five jersey combinations through the 2029 season.

The Indianapolis Colts' Rivalries design emphasizes a modern edge with a metallic blue helmet and high-shine finishes. The jersey is "anvil steel" black, a color meant to embody the intensity and grit of the team, featuring reflective accents that mimic sparks and motion. The look is completed with a silver horseshoe on the shoulder. The Colts will first wear this combination in Week 3 while hosting the Texans.

In Jacksonville, the Jaguars unveiled a bold design featuring a teal helmet with a gold facemask and a 904 mark. The white jersey includes cursive Jaguars font above the numbers and the team logo on the sleeves. Black pants with gold-outlined teal stripes contain the names of Jacksonville neighborhoods hidden within the spots. To honor the franchise's inaugural season, the outer collar features a Since '95 inscription. The Jaguars are scheduled to wear these uniforms on Nov. 1 during a Week 8 home game against the Colts.

Within the NFC North, the Chicago Bears' new look provides a modern update to team heritage, utilizing a midnight palette with burnt orange accents. The striping is inspired by the Chicago flag and classic team design, while bold orange pants reference George Halas and the Monsters of the Midway. This is the first new Bears uniform to be worn in a game since the introduction of 1936 white throwbacks in 2019. The team will wear the design during a Week 16 Christmas home game against the Green Bay Packers.

The Detroit Lions also revealed their designs on Tuesday morning. Retiring Lions president and CEO Rod Wood stated in a May 12 interview with Brad Galli that the design process with Nike took several years of back-and-forth iterations to reach a look that is consistent with team colors but includes a modern twist.

The Lions will don the uniforms on Nov. 1 in Week 8 against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings have already scheduled their own Rivalries alternate for Week 15, when they host the Lions at U.S. Bank Stadium on Dec. 20 for Sunday Night Football.

Ryan Airhart, Director of NFL Apparel Product Design at Nike, previously stated that the program is intended to help grow the sport and expand it for the next generation through collaborations that authentically reflect the unique identities of teams and their communities.
