Arsenal offer Myles Lewis-Skelly to Chelsea and Manchester United

Arsenal have reportedly offered versatile youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly to both Chelsea and Manchester United this summer, according to reports on Wednesday, August 12. The move suggests the 19-year-old is no longer part of Mikel Arteta's plans for the upcoming season.

The left-back and midfielder has featured in all of Arsenal's pre-season fixtures so far, appearing in a defensive midfield role. While the Gunners are open to a sale, a significant valuation gap has emerged between the North London club and interested parties. Sources indicate Arsenal want between £45million and £60m for the player, with some reports stating they would accept offers around £60million.

Manchester United are open to exploring a move for the teenager, but they consider Arsenal's valuation too high. Despite this, some figures associated with the club are urging a deal. Rio Ferdinand stated on his YouTube channel that United should press the green button and buy him if the price is right.

"If he’s on the market and he’s a good price you have to take him. The good price I’m saying is £60m or £70m. If that’s the case, get the chequebook out, slap it down and sign him,"

The interest in Lewis-Skelly comes as Manchester United continues a difficult search for a new left-back. Michael Carrick's side has encountered difficulties in pursuing Lewis Hall from Newcastle United, and the club is now considering a £30million bid for Club Brugge's Joaquin Seys as an alternative. United are also reportedly willing to meet a release clause of £16 million for Racing Santander's Jorge Salinas to beat competition from Barcelona.

Arsenal's willingness to move Lewis-Skelly follows a period of significant squad turnover. The club recently sold Leandro Trossard to Besiktas on July 16, 2026. Former goalkeeper Ben Foster expressed disbelief over the sale on talkSPORT, describing Trossard as a big, influential player who helped end the club's 22-year title drought last season.

The Gunners have replaced Trossard with Christos Tzolis in a £34million deal from Club Brugge and have added Bruno Guimaraes to the squad. Former player Lee Dixon suggested that Guimaraes' arrival should drive Lewis-Skelly to fight for his place rather than discourage him.

Further instability remains on Arsenal's left flank. Gabriel Martinelli, 25, is facing interest from Galatasaray, who have submitted offers of £38.4m and €45m. While Martinelli has informed Arsenal he has no interest in moving outside Europe's top five leagues, the club is reportedly mulling over the approach. Arsenal are unlikely to sell Martinelli to a domestic rival and will not sanction a move until a replacement is found, having already missed out on Vinicius Junior and Morgan Rogers.

To fill attacking voids, Arsenal are considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola, though PSG is demanding approximately £145m. The club is also in contact with Bayer Leverkusen regarding Christian Kofane. Agent Eric Depolo confirmed to the Daily Arsenal website that Arsenal's interest in the Cameroon international is genuine and that the manager likes him very much.

Additionally, Arsenal are pursuing Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa. While the Gunners initially offered around £30m, Villa values the England international at £60m. Arsenal accept they must significantly improve their offer to land the defender.

Other potential exits at the Emirates include Reiss Nelson, who is in talks with West Ham, and Ethan Nwaneri, who has been linked with RB Leipzig, Galatasaray, and Borussia Dortmund following a loan spell at Marseille.
