The hero of Christopher Nolan's latest cinematic venture is trading the ancient world for the battle bus. Epic Games has announced a collaboration with the film The Odyssey, bringing a skin based on the likeness of Matt Damon's Odysseus to the battle royale island.

The digital arrival coincides with the theatrical release of the movie, which is scheduled for July 17, 2026. Nolan's epic, which runs 2 hours and 53 minutes, reportedly features an enormous practical Cyclops and was crafted to do away with cultural prejudices regarding the ancient world.

This update also introduces England legend David Beckham and several Batman characters wearing swimsuits.

The Odyssey Cup

For players seeking the cosmetics without spending V-Bucks, Epic Games is hosting The Odyssey Cup. This solo competition runs from Wednesday, July 15, to Thursday, July 16, 2026. Players can compete across three distinct modes: Battle Royale, Zero Build, and a Mobile Reload competition.

The tournament structures vary by platform. Battle Royale and Zero Build qualifiers run for up to three hours, allowing players to compete in as many as 11 matches. The Mobile Cup is shorter, lasting roughly 75 minutes with a maximum of eight matches. Points are earned based on in-game scoring, and ties are broken using the following criteria:

• Total Victory Royales
• Average eliminations
• Average placement
• Total survival time

Top performers in each region will earn a complete cosmetic set featuring the Odysseus Outfit, the Bow of Iphytus Back Bling, and the Odysseus' Xiphos Pickaxe. Other participants can earn themed rewards based on their point totals:

• King's Helm Spray: Requires 40 points.
• Trojan War Loading Screen: Requires eight points in Battle Royale and Zero Build, or five points in the Mobile Cup.

Additional Skins and Availability

While Matt Damon's Odysseus is the primary focus, leaker ShiinaBR has revealed a second skin based on the character Agamemnon, played by Benny Safdie in the film. Both characters are expected to be available for purchase if players fail to secure the free version through the tournament.

Sources provide conflicting times for when these skins will hit the shop on Friday, July 17, 2026. One report states they will be available at 5 PM PT, while another suggests 8 PM ET.

The crossover follows a trend of Nolan's work appearing within the game. Previous integrations have included full showings of Inception, The Prestige, and Batman Begins, as well as the debut of the Tenet trailer.

The broader cultural adaptation of the story has also seen unconventional turns, including an AI-generated movie labeled as Slopbuster and an audio version of the poem narrated by an AI reproduction of Michael Caine's voice.
