Disney+ Day 2024: Every New Film, Series, and Special Announced

Disney+ Day 2024 has arrived, and the streaming giant has unveiled a massive slate of new content coming to the platform. Here’s everything that was announced during the event.

New Films

Encanto is returning with a sequel, Encanto: The Return of Mirabel, set to release on November 22, 2024. The film will explore Mirabel’s journey as she steps into her role as a guardian of the family’s magical house.

New Series

A new live-action series based on the classic Winnie the Pooh stories is in development, with a premiere date of 2025. The series will feature a mix of new and familiar characters, including Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore.

Specials and Documentaries

A new documentary series, Disney Legends, will celebrate the iconic figures who have shaped the company’s history. The series will premiere in late 2024.

Marvel and Star Wars Updates

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will expand with a new series starring Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton in a solo adventure. The series, titled Hawkeye, is set to return in 2025.

The Star Wars franchise will also see new content, including a live-action series set in the High Republic era, featuring Amandla Stenberg and Forest Whitaker. The series is expected to premiere in 2025.

Pixar and Animation

Pixar’s next film, Elemental, will receive a direct sequel, Elemental: The Storm, set to release in 2025. The film will follow the characters of Ember and Wade as they navigate a new threat to their city.

Disney Channel and Freeform

A new original series, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, will debut on Disney Channel in 2024, continuing the story of Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez.

Star and Voice Cast Announcements

Chris Pratt will reprise his role as Star-Lord in an upcoming Marvel project, while Zendaya will star in a new Disney+ series based on the Dune franchise.
